Each player contributes a certain amount to the pot before the game begins. The first player to make a bet is called the “bettor,” and he must match the previous bettor’s bet. Each subsequent player must place chips into the pot equal to the number of chips contributed by the player before him. After all the players have placed their chips in the pot, the betting interval ends.

The most popular type of poker is Texas Hold’Em. The player with the highest hand wins the pot. The game is played clockwise, with players betting into the center of the table. During the first round of betting, players are dealt two cards. Afterwards, they can raise or fold their bet.
