Poker is a popular card game that can be played with a number of players. Typically, a game will consist of at least seven players. The object of the game is to win the “pot,” which is the sum of all the bets placed by the players in a single hand. Historically, it was a game of chance between two or four players who bet on the best hand. After the Civil War, the game was developed further. A player with the highest hand is the dealer. The dealer’s role in poker is to handle the cards for each hand.
