The Basics of Poker

A good poker player knows how to read other players and their tells. A tell is an unconscious habit or idiosyncrasy that reveals information about the player’s hand, like a gesture or a change in posture. Reading other players’ tells is a crucial part of the game, and can help you decide whether to call their bet or raise it.
